The Phoenix Sonoran Preserve is the newest area in the City of Phoenix's famed Sonoran Desert preserve system. Since 2009, crews have built 36 miles of new trails in the Sonoran Preserve with another 18 miles set to open in the fall of 2014. Funding Source: Phoenix Parks and Preserve Initiative.
